Dumfries - update!

As we reported earlier this week, the SWSCP Cyclocross race on 30th October is in serious doubt after the intended venue was double-booked.

Although the organisers hope to secure another venue, SCX have decided to remove this race from the Tri Centre Scottish Cyclocross series. With a round in Ballater having been added to the series earlier this week, we're back to eight events and the basis of the league - six best results from eight races remains unchanged.

We hope that the Dumfries organisers can go ahead with their event and will bring you news as soon as we get it.

HalloCross - 31st October

The Tri Centre, sponsors of the Scottish Cyclocross Series, are organising a Halloween Cyclocross at Craigmillar Park in Edinburgh on 31st October.

Monday 31st October 18:30
Craigmillar Castle Park
45 minutes + 1 lap
Over 18s only

Check out The Tri Centre's Facebook page for more on HalloCross.

Note that this race is not a counting round of the series (but sounds awesome!).

Deeside Doubler

We're pleased to announce two more cyclocross races for you this season.

Deeside Thistle will be holding a race at Knockburn Loch, near Banchory on Saturday 5th November. The circuit is a great modern cyclcross course and there are excellent on-site facilities. This race is not part of the series.

SCX stalwart Dan Whitehead is hosting a round of The Tri Centre Scottish Cyclocross Series in Ballater on Sunday 6th November. Dan, fresh off a great result at the Three Peaks Cyclocross promises us a great race in and around the village.

The paperwork is currently making it's way through the Scottish Cycling system, so as soon as these events hit the online calendar, we'll link to the details over there on the right of your screen.

Dumfries - potential problem!

We've had news from the organisers of the Dumfries round of the The Tri Centre Scottish Cyclocross Series to say that there is a potential problem with their event on the 30th October as it would appear that Dumfries and Galloway Council have double booked the venue that they'd arranged for the race.

The organisers are trying to resolve the situation at the moment and we expect to find out later this week if the race can go ahead. As soon as we hear one way or another then we'll let you know straight away.
